I studied maths for two years and then switched to management studies for my Part II. I stayed on in Cambridge and took a PhD in workforce planning and career choice - hence my interest in supporting the career development of Newnham students!
My work is a mix of applied research and consulting. My clients are employing organisations in many different sectors and sometimes government or sector bodies. I work on several aspects of employment, including workforce planning, workforce development, leadership and career development. I am self-employed, working from my home in Sussex, and also collaborate with a number of institutes and university departments.
I can advise in a general way on career choices for graduates and in particular careers in HR, working in applied social science research, and self-employment. I have run and helped with many of Newnham's career events for students.
