Mary Bolton

My first degree was in Metallurgy & Materials Science followed by an MSc with the Open University in Manufacturing: Management & Technology.

I have over 30 years’ experience in the Aerospace, Automotive and Defence industries, where I have been involved in: Computer-modelling,  Research & Development, Process Control, Quality Assurance, Lean 6-sigma, Failure Analysis and Quality Management Systems and Regulatory (CAA) compliance.

I have helped to promote talented women into Science and Engineering through workshops run by the Newnham Associates and by mentoring women returners through the Women's Engineering Society.

I retired from the post of Quality Manager in 2022 to pursue a new career in communication support work using BSL for Deaf students.
