Utheri Kanayo

Utheri Kanayo took a masters and doctorate in education at Newnham. In 2017, she became a Metis Fellow innovative African educators. She is now based in Kenya where she is the co-founder and principal of the Children in Freedom School. She is interested in supporting black or African students studying at Newnham, and mentoring those interested in Africa and supporting cultural diversity. She is keen to be a bridge between Newnham and Africa.

“I love empowering African people to embrace our heritage and know who we are. I love family, reading, cooking foods from all over the world, and having a sense of peace. I am open minded and love experience new things, cultures and a good chat.”
