BAFTA winner, BAFTA Fulbright Fellow, Time Out 'Documentary Series of the Year', Young Journalist of the Year and Guardian columnist. Currently also a Director's Fellow at the MIT Media Lab in Boston.

Originator, director, writer, and manager of creative projects; primarily documentary film but including live performances and events, digital media and novels.

With a lifelong interest in the culture and history of technology, she wrote and directed a series about the Enlightenment for BBC Worldwide and Beijing TV and am now writer/director of ‘Senseless’, a feature documentary in development with the Media Lab, about the crucial difference between silicon-based and carbon-based intelligence.

Also passionate about using film and digital tech to extend the audience for music, primarily but not only classical. These have included an augmented reality listening app with the Media Lab and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and a prototype MOOC with theLondon Symphony Orchestra, ‘The Rewrite of Spring’.

She has a long term job running a therapeutic creative writing group for survivors of torture at Freedom from Torture and believes passionately in the healing power of writing - for everybody.

And of bakIng. In 2012 invented and ran 'Cake in the Clouds', a competition among top engineering firms to build the tallest cake at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Pageant.

Recreational baking is part of a lifelong commitment to leading a creatively fulfilling but low-carbon life. Other elements of this include cycling everywhere playing the fiddle, working with Transition Camden and swimming - weather permitting - in the Hampstead Ladies' Bathing Pond.
